Loren Terveen named Distinguished McKnight University Professor

profile_terveenCongratulations to Loren Terveen on being named a new Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the U of M! The program recognizes outstanding faculty members who have recently achieved full professor status, and recipients hold the title for as long as they remain at the U.

Terveen is a CTS-affiliated researcher in the U’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering. His transportation-related work includes the creation of Cyclopath, an online bicycle map and trip planner launched in 2008. Cyclopath generates personalized bicycle routes for its users and allows them to edit the system’s maps of roads and trails.

He will also serve as a co-investigator of a new NSF-funded project focused on the implementation and possible commercialization of a bicycle collision-warning system developed by U of M professor Rajesh Rajamani.
