This summer, CTS hosted 24 students from two Chinese universities—Southeast University and Nanjing Tech University—for a six-week summer training program as part of the Global Transit Innovations Program (GTI).
Visiting students took U of M courses on GIS and planning with Humphrey School and U-Spatial faculty. They also attended a variety of transportation-focused seminars and tours around the Twin Cities. The program’s itinerary included visiting U of M labs, trying out Nice Ride, taking a boat tour of the St. Croix River Crossing construction site, and touring Metro Transit and the 3M Innovation Center.
In addition, students participated in cultural activities and explored a variety of Minnesota destinations, including the Mall of America and Lake Superior.
The program was developed by CTS, GTI, and the U of M China Center’s Mingda Institute.
